I haven’t read it entirely yetbut from johaannes I’ve read so far, it looks quite promising. I hope it continues the way it starts I’ve finished reading it. It doesn’t do as well later on. There are a few pearls here and there, some directly related to Alchemy, some of a more general philosophical nature. There is quite a bit of mud-throwing as well It may be helpful to add some insights, but there are better books dealing with the entire work.

My own review is a mixed one. Up to each reader to decide the usefulness. Adam McLean apparently didn’t like it very much: Originally Posted by Adam McLean. It claims to alcheym This sort of dating method reminds me of one of the conceits of Crowley, perpetuated by the later OTO people.


It seems to be to be one of those typical mid to late 20th century speculative mish-mashes, which serve only to confuse and confound, and certainly does not throw much light on the alchemy we find in the original texts.

To me the author has that terrible confidence and certainty about his insights into alchemy, that makes my eye’s glaze over! I wish I could feel so certain about interpreting the complexities of alchemical literature. Unfortunately these are the kind of works that get published, because they seem to provide some easy answers. Johannnes book then sat on the shelf for several years.

Eventually i was drawn back to it, and have now read it many,many times over. Now i consider the book to be excelent value. Unvriled we can all read “Alchemy Unveiled” for free.

Thanks for posting this and linking the book. I really liked it up to about page 26 where I felt the quality was starting to slip, not that it was entirely perfect before that.


A few different parts caught my eye as interesting after that as jnveiled. Just like you said it starts out good then kind of goes downhill.

He says a lot of things that I’m not really sure I agree with, mostly on the spiritual stuff. Especially some of the quotes just didn’t connect with me at all.

With all that in mind I would say it’s a decent work, far from useless.
