The one on the base supports a screw in cable release. Although it was considered heavy, it was actually lighter than previous models like the C I pretty much only work in film except when taking pics for an eBay listingand this is now my third and final film camera.
Years ago, I owned this camera and always loved the image quality and ease of use. Unlike the C33, the winding can be done in a single clockwise degree rotation, and cannot be turned backwards. That is what the C in C means, so you can go wide with this camera and its 55 mm lens or you can go tele mamiua a mm lens.
The build quality of these cameras are outstanding, and like nothing you can seem to find currently.

But mamita you extend the bellows you have to correct for exposure and parallax error. A limited version called Mamiya C Special Selection was also made.
I intend to have the film developed professionally and then scan the negative or transparency to digital for mmiya. Though it has its quarks, especially when trying to remove a lens, it has become a great companion.
These cameras have two lenses — with one lens you see the image and do the focus; and with the other lens, the camera takes the photo. But you can use it without problem. When it comes to TLRs, the Rolleiflex quickly pops up into mind.
